I started to work in the emerging field of Queer Ecology in 2009 after witnessing "Dirty Sexecology" a performance by Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens which inspired me to combine my artivism in the fields of ecology, gender and sexual diversity.

I participated in three of their Ecosexual Weddings (2009-2011) and curated the "Ecogender/Ecogénero" exhibition in 2010 in La Erreria (House of Bent) which included their work alongside that of over 20 international artists working in the field of gender and ecology.

During this period I have collaborated in various arts and film festivals, conferences and publications presenting my work with the Institute of Queer Ecology (2022) and at IVAM ( Valencian Institute of of Modern Art, 2022), performing at the Unfix Festival of Performance and Ecology (CCA, Glasgow, 2015) and taking part with two eco-art installations and a participatory action in the socially engaged arts festival A Les Balconades (Valencia, 2016).

I began to research queer ecology more in depth during my MA studies in Art Production at the University Polytechnic of Valencia in 2011 during which I organised 2 days of conferences, workshops and performances in collaboration with other LGTBQ and transfeminist artists and activists.

This led me to develop a new performative alter-ego, the transgender shaman Geyserbird, and to begin a cycle of over 50 rituals and ceremonies which formed the basis of my PhD investigation completed in 2018 at the UPV: “Natural Hysteria: a Queer Response to Ecocide. An exercise in Living Art, Participatory Rituals and Queer Ecology -or- How I discovered Geyserbird, the Transgender Shaman within”.

In 2019 I published “Ecogender X: A (r)evolutionary project about Ecology and Gender from a queer perspective” a bilingual book which compiles documentation of my investigations into queer ecological art practices, the Ecogender project and the Natural Hysteria cycle. It includes texts by artists who have collaborated such as Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens, Verónica Perales, Diana J. Torres and William James.

I have also participated in the Sex and Nature: 1800-2018 conference (Exeter University, 2019) with “The War Memorial Trilogy”, in the itinerant festival Urban Body in Action (various countries, 2019) with the short film “Queers against Climate Change”, in the event Deep Trash Escoria organised by CUNTemporary Arts (London, 2018) with the video “Ecogender (r)Evolutionary Parade” and in the itinerant film programme Imagine the Earth is your Lover (various countries, 2020/2021) organised by the One Minute and curated by Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stephens, with the short film “Let´s Get Ecosexy!”.

Furthermore I contributed an essay to the “Queer Feminist Decolonial Ecologies. Dossier” published by Arts Feminism Queer as part of the EcoFutures festival (London, 2019) and have also carried out several performative lectures on queer ecology including “Towards Ecotransfeminism: how to queer the ecology movement and vice-versa” (Octubre, Valencia, 2016), “How to Heal the World Bank” at the Festival For Equality (Valencia University, 2017) and “Ecogender X” as part of the Museari Queer Art exhibition (Las Naves, Valencia, 2019).

In 2022 I curated the #ecoqueerplanet exhibition and began a new project based on trans bodies in rural landscapes which had its first showing in the exhibition Trans Territory in Fantastik Lab (2022).

Comencé a trabajar en el campo emergente de la ecología queer en 2009 después de ver "Dirty Sexecology", una actuación de Annie Sprinkle y Beth Stephens que me inspiró a combinar mi artivismo en los campos de la ecología, el género y la diversidad sexual.

Participé en tres de sus Bodas Ecosexuales (2009-2011) y realice el comisariado de la exposición “Ecogender / Ecogénero” en 2010 en La Erreria (House of Bent), que incluyó su trabajo junto con el de más de 20 artistas internacionales que trabajan en el campo de género y ecología.

Durante este período he colaborado en diversos festivales de arte y cine, conferencias y publicaciones presentnado mi trabajo con el Institute of Queer Ecology (2022) y en el IVAM (Valencian Institute of of Modern Art, 2022), actuando en el Unfix Festival of Performance and Ecology (CCA, Glasgow, 2015) y participando con dos instalaciones de eco-arte y una acción participativa en el festival de arte socialmente comprometido A Les Balconades (Valencia, 2016).

Empecé a investigar más a fondo la ecologia queer durante mis estudios de Máster en Producción Artística en la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia en 2011 durante los cuales organicé 2 días de conferencias, talleres y performances en colaboración con otras artistas y activistas LGTB y transfeministas.

Esto me llevó a desarrollar un nuevo alter-ego performativo, el chamán transgénero Geyserbird, y a comenzar un ciclo de más de 50 rituales y ceremonias que formaron la base de mi investigación de doctorado completada en 2018 en la UPV: “Histeria natural: una respuesta queer al Ecocidio. Un ejercicio de Live Art, Rituales Participativos y Ecología Queer -o- Cómo descubrí Geyserbird, el Chamán Transgénero dentro ”.

En 2019 publiqué “Ecogender X: Un proyecto (r)evolucionario sobre Ecología y Género desde una perspectiva queer”, un libro bilingüe que recopila documentación de mis investigaciones sobre las prácticas del arte ecológico queer, el proyecto Ecogender y el ciclo de la Histeria Natural. Incluye textos de artistas que han colaborado como Annie Sprinkle y Beth Stephens, Verónica Perales, Diana J. Torres y William James.
